An opportunity for the Maternal and Early Years Network to support PlayTalkRead.

PlayTalkRead (PTR) is asking parents and carers of little ones across Scotland to vote for their favourite play, talk and read things to do in their local area and have asked the Maternal and Early Years for our support to extend the reach of their message. We can help to ensure that this opportunity reaches as many parents and carers as possible throughout Scotland and that votes are representative of the children and families we work with and for.

  • Can you support engagement with their ‘Things to Do in your Local area’ campaign by sharing information with your networks and contacts about the opportunity to vote?
  • Or can you support the parents and carers you work with and for, by prompting or facilitating their access to the PlayTalkRead website and the online voting process?

PTR have created 14 lists of ideas, split by area to choose from, and voting is easy: simply visit playtalkread.scot/30things to vote and to automatically generate some shareable social media content.

The vote is now open until 13th December, and at the end of the campaign PlayTalkRead will share the results to map how Scotland has voted and come up with the ultimate list of PlayTalkRead ideas for parents and carers, as voted by parents and carers.

Parents and carers might also get some new ideas to try out with their pre-schoolers and can tell PTR what they think on Facebook (Facebook.com/playtalkread) and Twitter (@PlayTalkRead).
